Michael is the Junior Trainee Associate at Le & Tran.  Prior to joining Le & Tran in November 2022, Michael completed his Bachelor of Law at Ho Chi Minh University of Law, followed by working at a local law firm specializing in litigation and dispute settlement.

At Le & Tran, Michael has been involved in various legal practices, namely contemplating dispute cases, analyzing relevant legal issues, drafting, revising litigation documents, and advisory matters.

  • Assisting a British national in a divorce settlement & child custody dispute, where the Vietnamese mother unilaterally took the daughter (who is placed under the protection of the High Court of England and Wales) away from her British family, brought her to Vietnam, and cut off the father’s contact with his child to get money from him.
  • Assisting a Japanese company that wanted to initiate a bankruptcy case against a Vietnamese company. The value is around USD170,000.
  • Assisting a construction company in claiming compensation from a transportation service company, arising out of an equipment leasing contract that was in service of a wind-energy project. The claim value is over USD5,000,000.
  • Assisting a Chinese company to claim compensation from one of the renowned Vietnamese companies in the food industry, arising out of a back-to-back supplying contract with another foreign company. The amount in dispute is around EUR280,000.
  • Assisting a foreigner to denounce a real-estate agent’s acts during a villa purchase that show signs of fraudulent appropriation of property. The damage incurred is over USD1,200,000.
  • Assisting an Iranian scientist to claim overdue payment for the works that he performed under an employment contract against a reputable public university in Vietnam.
  • Assisting a filmmaker in claiming compensation, demanding a public apology & public disclaimer from a painter who infringed upon his intellectual property rights by unlawfully making a derivative work based on his film without prior consent.
